Free Tour Stuttgart Old Town

Overview

Our tour starts in front of the main railways station of Stuttgart. Then  we will walk through the scenic gardens, admiring the Stuttgart State  Opera and  the Landtag Building - the local parliament of the German  state of Baden-Württemberg. Next to it, you will  admire The New Palace  surrounded by buildings dating from Stuttgart's past as a ducal and  royal of Württemberg

Then we will move on to see massive Altes Schloss or Old Castle. The  construction houses today the State Museum. We will learn  about one of  the famous inhabitants of the castle - count Claus von Stauffenberg the  central figures of the German resistance to Nazism known for his failed  attempt  to assassinate Adolf Hitler.
The tours continue to Schillerplatz, where we discover the Alte Kanzlei  (Old Chancellery), and on the old Fruchtkasten (Granary) dating from  1390. The most remarkable site is the Stiftskirche with  emblematic  two  unmatched spires. After a stroll through the old town and City’s Town  Hall, the tour concludes in front of the birthplace of Georg Wilhelm  Hegel, considered one of the fundamental figures of Western philosophy.  From here you can visit the museum or explore the city on your own.
